Jimbos Show Recod Release
Fun Guy Records- The Jimbos Show and Jimmy Dale's '58 Buick Record Release Party - Trees Dallas, TX
Saturday June 26th 2021
Announcing:Slim Jim Phantom (drummer of the Stray Cats) will be joining Jim "Reverend Horton" Heath and Jimbo Wallace of The Reverend Horton Heat in the live incarnation of the band - The Jimbos.“The Jimbos” started out as a live streaming only duo in 2020, but now are ready to blast off into the live venue scene with the addition of the living legend, talented drum icon, influential DJ and all-around nice guy – Slim Jim Phantom (Slimbo).  The Jimbos plan to bring new takes on covers by the rockabilly and rock and roll greats as well as "Revved up"  versions of some classics by the Stray Cats, Reverend Horton Heat classics and more.  The first live show of The Jimbos will also be a Fun-Guy Records Showcase and the record release party for Fun-Guy's latest release by Jimmy Dale Richardson,  " '58 Buick"/"She's Wild". In 2018 and 2019, Jimmy Dale’s “Dallas Barbershop Sessions”  EP climbed the alt-country charts (twice) and really set the stage for Fun-Guy Records to expand its help to the artists associated with our genre. Though this show is the launch of The Jimbos as a live band, it is also dedicated to Jimmy Dale and a celebration of (and record release party for) his new release that feature two songs of Jimmy with The Reverend Horton Heat band backing him up. The success of  “Dallas Barbershop Sessions” was due in large part to Slim Jim Phantom playing “Riverside Jump” on his famous SiriusXM radio show on Sunday evenings. Tune in to that for a ton of fun. The show will also feature Lance Lipinsky and award-winning band Justin Pickard and the Thunderbird Winos. Both with prospective future Fun-Guy releases. In the historic Deep Ellum District of Dallas.
Jimmy Dale plyed guitar and offered vocals Feb 3rd 2024 for Slim Jim Phantom's band (drummer of the Stray Cats) at the 65th Anniversary of the 1959 Winter Dance Party at Surf Ballroom. One of the most famous historic events in the USA. Sadly also known as the last performance and plane crash site area of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper. The All Star Finale included Blondie Chaplin (backing vocals, guitar for Rolling Stones and Beach Boys), Chris Montez “Let’s Dance” 1962 hit, Gilby Clarke (guitar on Use Your Illusion Tour 1991-1993 Guns N’ Roses) Glen Matlock (founding member of The Sex Pistols, writer of “God Save the Queen”, bass for David Bowie and Blondie). The show also included Marshall Crenshaw (played John Lennon in “Beatlemania” and Buddy Holly in “La Bamba,” The Official Albert Lee (60s London rock n roll guitarist for The Crickets, Eric Clapton, Everly Brothers, and won a Grammy in 2002). The bass player for the show is Jennie Vee (toured with Lana Del Rey and with Courtney Love), Austin Allsup Music (his father Tommy Allsup was the guitarist for Buddy Holly at Winter Dance Party 1959 and Austin is a Top 10 finalist on The Voice. All thanks to Slim Jim Phantom Stray Cats for wanting Jimmy to be part of it.
