Germanfest Muenster Chamber of Commerce - Texas

Willkommen (Welcome) to the annual Germanfest, sponsored by the Muenster Chamber of Commerce. Muenster was founded in 1889 by people of German heritage and Catholic faith. This unique German community located in North Texas, of approximately 1,700, is a close-knit family in both kinship and kindred spirit. This family, of common heritage and faith, throws one of the largest parties in Texas, Germanfest, the last full weekend in April. This three-day festival attracts thousands to mouthwatering German sausage, scrumptious apple strudel, hearty cheeses and homemade bread, cakes and pies and so much more. So, come to Heritage Park Event Center in Muenster and let us be your host for food, fun and frolic. Be sure to bring a "guten apetit." Plan to participate in one or more of our exciting activities. Events include a Sausage and Rib Championship Cook-Off, Nagelschlagen, Gelly Balls, Machanical Bull Riding, and other assorted competitions. There will be entertainment for the entire family, including puppets, dancers, carnival rides, while the family delight in dancing, music, arts and crafts, folk dancing, and two stages with non-stop entertainment.

Germanfest is held at the beautiful Heritage Park facility, a convenient location for one of the largest celebrations in North Texas. Mark your calendar for the last week’s full weekend in April for great food, music, and drink.

We have a fun family atmosphere with plenty of activities for the entire family.  The events include our 5k and 15k Germanfest Fun Run and Metric Century bike rally for fitness enthusiasts.  Teams gather for a fun cooking competition with a Rib and Sausage Cook-off.

Families can enjoy the magicians, mimes, clowns, and storytellers throughout the day.  Our Carnival and Kinder Theatre provide hours of entertainment with a German flare!

We also have many vendors set up throughout the park along with loads of arts and crafts, dancing, and live music throughout the day! Located on North U.S. Highway 82, 14 miles west of I-35, about 70 miles North of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Muenster is waiting to welcome you to their community and entertain you at Germanfest.
